THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS AND CAREER DECISIONS;
Months before conquering the European “throne”, Andrea decided to leave Hungary at the end of the 2012/13 season. Gyor said their goodbyes to their team captain who left a mark in the club’s history. Five trophies, one of which is the most valuable Champions League trophy are enough proof.
“One part of my life and career are successfully finished. Those two years just flew by. The most successful season of my career was behind me, and it only confirmed that coming to Gyor was the best move of my career up to that point. We managed to reach our common goal, and I finally made my club career dream come true. Gyor is an excellent club that has everything a professional athlete needs, they have wonderful fans and very good structural club organization. However, the team was structured in a way that I didn’t have a chance to play as middle back, which is my playing position. It is a situation that I never truly accepted, and I believed that in order to make further progress, I need to get more space in order to play in the position I fell the most comfortable in, and in which I can give my best. The vision, the professionalism and the fairness of the administration of Vardar during our negotiations made my decision to leave Hungary a little easier.”
